Self-Discipline
At SDSS Wellesley, our martial arts programs help individuals hone a range of invaluable life skills, empowering them in every area of their lives. Through martial arts training, you will learn self-discipline by following a structured training routine, setting goals, and putting in consistent effort to achieve them. With self-discipline, you feel more determined to finish a task or goal. Achieving more goals, like wanting to earn your next belt and improve yourself, can mean success in other aspects of life and help you reach your full potential.
Self-Control
In our martial arts programs, you will experience teamwork and collaboration. Our students work together in partner drills and group activities, helping each other grow and improve. There is a sense of community among practitioners as they meet in their classes and get acquanted. Teamwork and collaboration are important life skills. In life, you will meet new faces

Patience
Students will also develop problem-solving skills. When you train in a martial art, you will learn how to adapt to different opponents and situations and how to control your emotions. This skill means you’ll be able to react accordingly to what your opponent may do, for example, counteracting the opponent’s strike or punch with a block or dodge. You won’t only solve situations on the training mat. You’ll also solve them off the training mat and figure out what action should be done during a problem in a calm and composed demeanor.
